Petrophysics for formation evaluation (including open-hole and cased-hole logs, formation testing, down-hole fluids analysis, core analysis and surface logging during drilling) of both conventional and unconventional formations, is strongly relied upon for reservoir characterisation and improved production efficiency. Despite significant advances in petrophysics, reservoir engineering, geology, geophysics, drilling and production, communications among the experts in these disciplines have been limited. This advanced technical workshop will provide an environment for these experts to interact with each other, discuss and address the uniquely challenging issues and integration problems of characterising and producing hydrocarbons in Middle East reservoirs, and to learn about and evaluate new mechanisms and technologies for exploiting these reservoirs.
